Up early this morning around about 7.00, so time to wash By The Way before we left our lovely secluded mooring at 8.40.
Sun was shining again.
Second job of the day was to top up with water just before the three locks at Stoke Hammond.
Safely through on our own but Tracy had some help for the lock keeper. Who also provided a very useful tip for when in a wide lock on your own (open the bottom slacker on the side the boat is on and the gate slacker on the other side), which keeps the boat wedged to the lock wall, saving Rodney's arm from being wrenched from its socket hanging on to the middle rope! The first of many useful tips no doubt.
We then passed a boat which was named after Rodney's mum.
Onward to Leighton Buzzard and another three locks, found a beautiful secluded mooring about a half a mile away from Slapton lock by bridge 118 of the Grand Union Canal.
