Slapton to Cow Roast 9 Miles 16 Locks 1 Swing Bridge 6hr 40mins

Was woken in the night by a lot of splashing around and under the boat, turns out it was fish spawning,  there are a lot of large Carp in this stretch of the canal.

Left Slapton at 8.30 just as Derwent 6 had gone passed, when we caught up at Slapton Lock it turns out that they Blog as well and are very friendly with the bloggers of No Problem the blog we have been following for years.

Del & Al went through the first 10 Locks and the swing bridge with us and the girls did the locks whilst the guys skippered the boats.

Got to chat a lot in the locks and enjoyed the company of a lovely couple Del & Al.
When we parted at Marsworth we agreed to have a drink together when we meet again on the cut.

On route we passed to other canal turnings the one above is the Aylesbury arm and the one below is the Wendover arm both leading  to dead ends.

6 more locks would then take us passed Bulbourne and Tring, this part of the canal is lined with trees both sides as you can see

So on we go to where Del said the canal would open out again just short of the strangely name Cow Roast where we moored up.
