East of Berkhamstead to Kings Langley - 6 miles, 14 locks, 1 swing bridge, 6 hours

Set off nice and early 7:30  to try and get a few locks done before it got too hot.

As yesterday we travelled alone down the locks, twice as hard work, especially as on this stretched all the locks have to be left empty, so we have to fill them first, sail in and then empty them, I'm not moaning honest, but in this heat a real killer!

George started the day quite lively

But the heat soon slowed him down -  bless!

Nothing much to report today, although below is a very brave Heron, George and I actually walked behind him and him didn't even twitch.

Still ugly though:-)

Moored at Kings Langley, almost inside the M25!

Visited by a couple of Swans and their 7 signets, who were very keen to be fed, and not at all shy.

Finished the day with a nice Guinness and a Stella Pear Cidre (thanks Mike - one less for you!)

Day of rest tomorrow, it is Sunday after all - might even get the Sunday lunch that Rodney has been promising me for the last 6 weeks - I'll let you know.
