Llangollen -Horseshoe Falls

It was a mixed bag weather wise, but we had planned to do a walk encompassing horseshoe falls, so we set off despite the rain.  The walk was 4 miles but we had just over a mile to walk along the canal to get to the start.

We walked from the moorings towards the start of the Llangollen and it's source the river Dee.  The above is a chain bridge just before the Horsshoe falls.

This is the start of the Llangollen.  The other side of this is the Horseshoe Falls, a weir built by Thomas Telford to use the River Dee to fuel the Llangollen and the reservoir that feeds the Shropshire union.

The water travels at pace, but this canoeist made it look so easy.

As we headed towards the hills, the sun decided to put in an appearance.

Rod and George charged on ahead.

Come on you two, keep up!!

Back at Llangollen just in time to see the horse drawn boat leaving its moorings.

  1. This is an incredible blog with beautiful image but with short information of Horseshoe Falls where I went through niagara falls canada tours with my friends last year to celebrate my birthday. We also went to the Skylon Tower to see the actual beauty of these falls and I must tell you that I enjoy a lot especially to see the rain bows in afternoon time.
