Christmas and New Year

Happy New Year to you all.

Apologies for the long period of silence but we have been away.

The Christmas and New Year were pretty busy.  Starting with my brothers 60th Birthday.

The next day we descended on my other brother for Christmas.  We had a lovely family get together on the Monday night, Carol spoilt us with some fab home made cup cakes which Sarah was very impressed with.

On the Wednesday night we headed to White Hart Lane to watch Spurs v West Ham in the quarter final of the old league cup. We were joined by Mandy and as this was her first visit to White Hart Lane Mr B was in his element!

This was the first night of the storms!  We had a good time but overall not the best of nights, Spurs lost, the trains were a nightmare due to the winds so at one point we didn't think we were getting home and then some git broke into the van and nicked the fold up bike and our week old satnav!!!!
Still much worse things happen I suppose.

Next we were off to spend a night with our old neighbours very weird sleeping in the house next door to your own!!!  But was great to catch up with everyone.

Saturday morning we were up bright and early to help my brother Terry move from Redditch to Rochester.

Now it was almost Christmas and we met up with some of the family on Christmas Eve for a nice meal.

We had a quiet relaxing Christmas Day just the four of us.

Little George seemed to get the most presents.

On Boxing Day we were joined by Tania and Michael for more eating, drinking and game playing, oh and more presents for George!

The next day was my Birthday and we were off to the Norfolk Broads to help Tania and Michael move their boat on the 28th we had our fingers crossed for some decent weather.

We were lucky the morning of the 28th was crisp but the sky's were clear and the wind had dropped so the move was on.  We had to reach a couple of bridges at certain times to coincide with low tide.

We arrived at Oulton Broad just after 3:00 having left at 7:15 and successfully moored up at the new mooring.

We ate out that night to celebrate my birthday, food was lovely.

I was spoilt and embarrassed by the arrival of a beautiful birthday cake, and the whole restaurant singing Happy Birthday :-).

It was a lovely chocolate cake......

We headed back to George and Carols for New Year and had a lovely meal with Karen and Matt on 30th.

New Years Eve was quiet with a nice meal and a few good hands of the card game Newmarket which none of us had played for years, so took us a while to get back into the swing of it.

New Year's Day we were joined by Carols brother and his family for a lovely roast dinner, it was also Janes birthday so we had another cake!!!

Overall it has been a busy but very enjoyable festive break.  A big thank you to George and Carol for looking after us so well.
